A customer of mine came in recently and brought a Yaker chew with her for her dog. I’d admitted that I’d never heard of them but her dog loved the chew.

After a bit of research it turns out that these fabulous chews are made out of yak’s and cow’s milk. Lime juice and salt is added to harden the chew.
So, basically it is a very hard cheese. They are preservative & gluten free, 100% natural ingredients, rich in protein & calcium and apparently long lasting.

Always on the lookout for natural treats for the dogs I bought two medium sized Yakers from Amazon, costing £10.10 plus p&p

They arrived yesterday and I have to say I’m impressed and the pooches are impressed.
The video shows the chews after an hours chewing.
There is no yucky odour with them and they don’t leave any sticky residue. After an hour the dogs have barely made a dent in them but they’ve been kept happily occupied. Occasionally as the chew softened ever so slightly the dogs managed to bite the tiniest piece off, which they chewed and swallowed.

I’d rate these Yakers 10/10 and will definitely stock these in the future, but lasting as well as they do I won’t have to buy many.

If you’ve used Yakers before let me know what you think.
